On 16 November 2006, S. Jagmohan Singh Kang, the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Dairy Development, ceremoniously opened the organic and modernized dairy farm. A composting plant and a bio-gas system are connected to the farm and interested visitors often come to see the entire plant. In the meantime, it has become an example in the region.
In November 2017 the first seminar on organic farming as well as an exhibition took place in Kirpal Sagar. All speakers stressed the need to preserve the soil, reduce chemical fertilizers and pesticides and respectfully make use of the earth’s natural cycles.
More than a year ago, the planning for a comprehensive solar plant was started. On the 31st of August 2018, the first part of the photovoltaic system with an output of 250 KW was put into operation.
Shortly thereafter, on the 12th of September, the second part of the plant was connected to the grid with 250 KW. The photovoltaic panels currently produce an average of approx. 2400 KWh per day.
By November 2018, the last part of the plant having a peak output of 200 KW will be set into operation. Then the amount of energy produced will be 3300 KWh per day, which, on its own, should be sufficient to cover most of the required electricity demands.
